Terms.
The short version: buy a shirt, we make it and mail it, be decent about the artwork. The longer version is below.
These terms cover thereallobbytalk.com and the Hotel Humor gift shop at /shop, operated by Lobby Talk. By buying something or using the site, you're agreeing to them.
What you're buying
Every item is made to order. Nothing is pre-printed and sitting in stock. When you check out, you're commissioning us to produce that specific item for you. This is why Returns & Exchanges works the way it does.
Products are printed and shipped by Printful, our fulfillment partner.
Prices and availability
Prices are in US dollars and shown on each product page. They come from our live product catalog and can change without notice — but the price you see at checkout is the price you pay for that order.
Product photos are mockups and lifestyle images. Real garments vary slightly in color between screens, dye lots, and blank suppliers. Print placement can shift a little between individual items; that's characteristic of the process, not a defect. If you think something genuinely misprinted, email us within 30 days of delivery — see Returns & Exchanges.
Occasionally a blank goes out of stock or gets discontinued after you've ordered. If we can't produce your item, we'll email you and refund it in full.
We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order — including for suspected fraud, pricing errors, or reseller-scale quantities. If we cancel, you get a full refund.
Ordering and payment
Payment is processed by Stripe. We don't receive or store your card details. Your order is confirmed when payment succeeds and we email you an order number.
You're responsible for the accuracy of the shipping address you enter. See Shipping for what happens if it's wrong.
Promo codes
Discount codes are single-use per customer unless we say otherwise, can't be combined, have no cash value, and can't be applied to an order after it's placed. We can withdraw a code at any time, including for abuse.
Sales tax
Sales tax is calculated at checkout where we're required to collect it, based on your shipping address, and is shown before you pay.
Shipping and returns
Covered in full on the Shipping and Returns & Exchanges pages. Those pages are part of these terms.
Our artwork
The designs, jokes, cartoons, wordmark, and site content are ours, and we'd like to keep them. You're buying a physical product, not the artwork on it.
So: don't reproduce our designs, don't put them on your own merchandise, and don't resell our products commercially without asking. Wearing them to a conference and getting stopped in the hallway is entirely the point and very much encouraged.
Parody and the jokes
Hotel Humor is comedy about the hospitality industry. Our designs are original work and are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any hotel brand, management company, or franchisor. Any resemblance to your property's actual budget meeting is a coincidence and also probably universal.
If you believe something here infringes your rights, email hello@thereallobbytalk.com and we'll take it seriously.
Using the site
Don't attempt to break, scrape at scale, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the site or its APIs. We rate-limit requests and reserve the right to block abusive traffic.
Warranty and liability
Because every item is custom printed to order, we do not accept returns or exchanges — see Returns & Exchanges. Products are provided as-is, without additional warranties to the fullest extent the law allows. If there is an issue with your order, contact us within 30 days of delivery.
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any order is limited to what you paid for that order. We're not liable for indirect or consequential losses — for example, an order arriving after the conference you wanted it for. Some states don't allow these limits, in which case they apply as far as that state permits.
Nothing here limits liability we can't legally limit.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
Changes
We may update these terms; the date at the top tells you when we last did. The terms in effect when you place an order are the ones that govern it.
