MCP — Model Context Protocol — is a shared, standard way for AI to connect to the tools a business already uses, so it can look things up or complete tasks instead of only talking about them.
AI gets far more useful when it can plug into real systems. Instead of only answering "what time is check-in?", it could answer "do I have a reservation tonight?" by checking the reservation system itself.
